Stressing out this holiday season? I understand: Holiday blues is a real thing. That said, it’s important to take a moment to step back and reflect on all you have. Thankfully, December’s Full Cold Moon is upon us: The moon is in Gemini and encourages us to all slow down and be real with one another. While the first day of the full moon was technically yesterday (December 13), this 4-step full moon ceremony is still relevant. It’s great for humbling you, grounding you, and helping you realizing you don’t need hundreds of gifts to be happy this holiday season. What you have right now is enough.

1. Settle down, breathe, and think of 3 positive things in your life.
Take a moment to get yourself in a relaxed state. You may light some incense, play some soothing music, or light a candle. Sit down, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths to let go of the day’s woes. When you’re ready, think of at least three people, situations, or places you’re grateful for. Maybe it’s your significant other, a good grade, or your new home. Focus on each and let yourself feel gratitude. Stay in this feeling for as long as you like.
2. Make a list of what you’re grateful for.
Now grab a pen and paper so you can list everything you just envisioned mentally. You don’t have to put too much detail into this: It can just be the names of the people, places, things, or situations you’re grateful for. That said, feel free to put the reason why you’re grateful for them down, if you feel so inclined. The more energy you add to this, the more powerful the ceremony will be.
3. Burn your gratitude list.
The full moon is a time of release: Burning your list will help you let things go. If you don’t feel comfortable burning the paper, you may shred it, bury it outside, or simply recycle it. The goal is to release attachment so you can welcome further abundance and happiness.
4. Say a positive affirmation.
This can be a simple “I am blessed” or something more intricate like, ” I am grateful for all the good that comes my way.” Make sure to speak it out loud, and to say whatever comes from your heart. You may say it once, or, if it feels right, repeat it three times. Either way, what you say should resonate with your soul. When you’re finished, make sure to put any fire you may have lit out! Now, you are charged with positive gratitude energy that will make this holiday season all the better.
