General Bio:

Ariana Palmieri is a green beauty blogger who strives to live as eco-friendly as possible. In July 2015 she started her blog, Greenify-Me, to document her own journey with eco-friendly products, makeup, and the environment. The site features beauty product reviews, natural DIYs, healthy recipes, and more. In her spare time she loves to read wellness-related books, devour sushi, drink bubble tea with her boyfriend, and befriend stray cats.

How did you get into green beauty?
Funny story, actually. I was looking through one of my favorite magazines, Faerie Magazine (it's beautiful, go check it out) back in 2014 and there was an article called 'A Midsummer Day's Beauty' that really caught my eye. It talked about how most brands of makeup use icky ingredients in their products you can't even pronounce and really got me thinking about what I put on my face. Not to mention they listed some really cool looking brands - one of them being 100% Pure. I decided to order something from that brand - and you know the rest. Now I'm hooked.

What's your greenest guilty pleasure?
Buying natural skincare products - I'm a sucker for anything that will help clear up my acne (I've got combination skin that's acne-prone, but thankfully its been clearing up a lot). You'll probably see me reviewing skincare products the most on this blog (just a heads up) because I believe when someone has beautiful skin, that becomes their foundation. After all, your face is your canvas.

What's your favorite kind of makeup product?
That's tough - I'm kind of at a draw between lipstick and eye shadow. I feel like I can't live without both because they create such an immediate difference in my look. But if I really had to choose I'd say eye shadow, because I never go a day without it. My current obsession is Goddess Glitter eye shadow by Poofy Organics (it's amazing, I don't leave the house without it on).

What are your green beauty standards?
I use ewg.org a lot to judge whether or not a product is safe, so I would say my standards align with theirs. I don't allow any harsh chemicals, parabens, sulfates, fragrances, or phthalates in my products. I always read the ingredients labels and if I see a chemical I can't pronounce on there, I take it as a warning sign and won't buy it. Unfortunately, lots of beauty brands try to green-wash their customers - so I suggest being extremely careful! While I prefer organic products over ones that claim to be 'natural', you can be certain I'll know right away if a product really is all-natural or not just by looking at the label. Only the products that pass my standards will be reviewed here, so you can always count on me to bring you the best I can find (and afford).

What made you decide to start a blog?
I wanted to start a blog for quite some time but was either too nervous or too unsure of my theme to create one. Finally, in July 2015, I just decided to wing it, letting go of my limiting perfectionism. My blog has come a long way since then, and I want to continue to expand it - perhaps in ways I can't imagine yet.

What qualifies you to write this blog?
I graduated Wagner College as an English major / Journalism minor and was the Editor-in-Chief of my college newspaper, The Wagnerian for my entire senior year. I also received Magna Cum Laude for getting a 3.7 GPA and a journalism award. My passion for writing and respect for the earth (and all things green) combined are the driving forces behind this blog. Without them, this blog probably wouldn't exist.

What should readers expect from this blog?
Lots of reviews on natural beauty products I try, as well as healthy food. I'll also include fun DIY projects that are eco-friendly and involve nature in some form or another (like painting pumpkins or making rose bath bombs). Lets not forget articles dedicated to the environment, animals, and gardening (after all, this is a green blog).

When should readers expect you to post?
I post at least once a week on my blog, usually on Friday around 5 or 6 o'clock. On Instagram I tend to post once a day and I share my Instagram posts on Facebook often. You'll find #WellnessWednesday posts every Wednesday (duh) on Instagram and Facebook, and #MakeupMonday posts every Monday. On Facebook, I share articles I've written for not just my blog, but other sites I freelance for. I also post a lot on Twitter a lot (probably the most), so be sure to follow me!
